Kansas City needs a new horror host. Or, hostess, as Roberta Solomon’s Crematia Mortem kept Kansas City entertained with ‘B’ horror flicks from 1981 to 1988. Unfortunately, all of the affiliate stations here in town are committed to showing the usual late night pablum everyone else is seeing across the country, so asking for local flavor might, indeed, be asking too much.
Maybe KCPT would allow a few hours on the weekend dedicated to camp and goth; heck, at this point I’d even settle for one of the unfortunate city channels.
Also, welcome to Goblin Manor. First post and all.
maybe KCMO could start a late-night monster movie; or perhaps even revive Creature Feature. As far as I know, MyTV lets local affiliates control their own daytime and late night programming. You should start a write-in campaign! I’d sign up for sure.
It’s a good idea. I originally thought about trying to arrange for a show on a local cable channel; unfortunately, turns out no one watches those except insomniacs and people who are too wasted to bother turning the channel.
No judgment, though. Can’t say I haven’t been a member of either group…
It would be worth looking into talking with channel 62. Really, the leftover UHF channels are still the ideal place since they’re almost never in the limelight and might be willing to try something kooky.
